Bio
Nicola Stubbs
Senior Macmillan Clinical Nurse Specialist
Since qualifying in 1996 with both a High Diploma in Adult nursing and a BSc (Hons) degree in Nursing I have worked in women’s health. My passion began in gynaecology both general and oncology the progressed to Breast cancer. I then completed the A11 in Breast care Nursing and ENB237 in Oncology Nursing.
My first Breast Nurse Specialist role was in North London aged 27, where I gained 12 months experience prior to moving back to Manchester.
I’ve been at the Nightingale unit now for over 20 years. I’ve led on some major projects and implemented changes to Nursing and patient care. My biggest achievement was the implementation of Patient support follow up within the unit and I still lead in its success. Likewise, the implementation of the Nurse lead endocrine clinic to assess patients menopausal status post breast cancer treatment, my protocols are now used nationally. I have presented locally and Nationally on both subjects. Likewise, was awarded a Macmillan award in recognition.
I am passionate about the patients experience within their Breast cancer pathway and beyond. Life after breast cancer needs to be lived and we can make a difference.
