Nicola is an Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon at the Nightingale Breast Cancer Centre in Manchester. She studied medicine at the University of Manchester qualifying in 1998 and completed a MD thesis entitled ‘Factors affecting the growth and progression of Ductal Carcinoma In Situ – with special reference to Cyclooxygenase-2 expression’ at the University of Manchester in 2008.

Nicola is the Clinical Director of the Manchester Breast service, which is the UK’s largest breast service, spanning across North and South Manchester. She regularly teaches medical undergraduate students about breast disease and post-graduate surgical doctors oncoplastic breast surgery techniques.

She is passionate about improving quality-of-life outcomes for people after breast cancer with a special interest in endocrine therapy side effects- and with like-minded colleagues has grant funding from Gilead, GM cancer and The Christie Hospital Charity to develop educational packages for staff and pilot a new endocrine therapy side-effect clinic in Greater Manchester.
